The facilities include Gage's custom-designed
fractional distillation equipment, along with thin film units
and the ability to refine high boiling liquid streams. Unlike
other test fuel sources, Gage’s equipment is on-site at its
headquarters in Ferndale, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit near
most of the area’s major automotive operations. The proximity
not only gives Gage an effective transport hub for customer
demands, it allows the Gage staff to quickly compile a request
and deliver it to the customer … fast. In a time-critical
testing cycle, that speed of delivery may mean the difference
between keeping a test going and the need to start the cycle
over again.
