Gage Products Company, a $45 million firm headquartered in the Detroit suburb of Ferndale, is a growing supplier of custom-blended fuels for product development and for quality emission-control testing by automotive OEMs, engine manufacturers and their suppliers.

Today, the company offers more than 25 different calibration fluids to meet testing requirements for a variety of automotive products, including oil and fuel pumps, fuel injectors and transmissions. Its customers include Visteon, DaimlerChrysler, Ford, Delphi, TI Automotive, Bosch and Federal-Mogul. Gage has provided these companies and others with more than 1,000 different blends of gasoline for automotive-test use over the last five years.

Gage Products has set the stage for this emerging business through a reorganization of the company’s refining services group. Business Manager Joe Porco is heading the company's test-fuels expansion. Gage also has developed a customer service team, increased laboratory staffing and invested in new laboratory and fuel-testing equipment.

Gage also brings a global presence to its customers. Headquartered in Ferndale, MI, since 1936, the company has operations in Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil and Mexico as well. Gage’s fully-licensed Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) facilities refine waste and “off-spec” solvent streams to original product specifications. The company has earned both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification as well.
