| Demand for cleaner-burning
engines requires automakers to constantly test and re-test
new powertrain combinations to meet tough legislative emissions
requirements. Variances in regional fuels means automakers
must be able to access the proper reference fuels quickly
and accurately, to meet compliance.
Gage’s Test Fuel Division provides its customers
with more than 1,000 different blends of gasoline for automotive
test uses over the last five years. These fuels not only represent
regional fuel configurations from North America, Europe, South
America and the Asia/Pacific region, they also include gasoline
alternatives such as ethanol and gasoline with additives like
MTBE.
As
new gasoline blends evolve worldwide, Gage’s R&D laboratory
will continue to develop and deliver these reference fuels
for its customers, creating a test fuel reference library
that allows for fast, accurate access to reference fuel configurations.
